  • Bratislava – capital of Slovakia with a pedestrian-only 18th century Old Town. Slovakia’s largest city is surrounded by vineyards and the Little Carpathian Mountains.
  • In Vienna, the Local Expert will take you on a private visit of the beautiful Maria Theresa’s Schonbrunn Palace – the summer palace of the Habsburg rulers. No trip to Vienna would be complete with out a traditional Viennese dinner with music.
  • Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic is one of the most picturesque towns in Europe. The Old Town is a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site.
  • In Prague (there are actually more than 100 spires, by the way!), you will visit the jaw-dropping beautiful Strahov Monastery Library – Linda’s favorite! The infamous Peklo Restaurant is one of the oldest monasteries in the world with a medieval wine cellar.

Day 1
Welcome to Budapest

At Budapest International Airport, a group transfer is provided to your hotel. In the evening, join your Travel Director and fellow travelers for a Welcome Dinner at the elegant Gundel restaurant (availability permitting). Savor mouthwatering Hungarian specialties, accompanied by specially selected Hungarian wine, as you dine in sophisticated style.

Day 2
Relaxed Start Budapest, the Queen of the Danube

Venture into the heart of Buda’s medieval Castle District with a Local Expert to visit Matthias Church and  take in the vista from the Fisherman’s Bastion. Cross the Danube to the Pest district to visit Heroes’ SquareHeroes Square and drive down elegant Andrássy Boulevard. Make your way to a traditional strudel house to see pastry chefs at work, as they prepare delicious sweet strudel by stretching the dough and readying fillings. Enjoy a delectable taste of this famous delicacy paired with a rich aromatic coffee. Enjoy time in the foodie’s paradise of the Central Market Hall. Wander across its three levels brimming with aromatic food stalls offering delicious salamis, spicy paprika, Hungarian wines and an array of flavored Palinkas, a traditional Hungarian fruit brandy. Spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your leisure. This evening, perhaps you could stop for an aperitif of Hungarian Pálinka in and elegant cafe in the old city or maybe opt for a glittering dinner cruise along the Danube?

Day 3
Free Time in Budapest and Dinner with the Locals

This morning enjoy a guided visit of the Synagogue at Dohany, the largest synagogue in Europe. The rest of the day is at leisure to immerse yourself in Budapest’s history, culture and gastronomy. Perhaps, visit a thermal bath (an institution in Budapest), spend time browsing the boutiques on Vaci Street or relax in a sidewalk cafe. In the evening, you are invited by your Eat-With host to a Dine-at-Home experience. Sit down to a hearty Hungarian meal and learn about life in this enchanting city.

Day 4
Along the Danube to Szentendre and Bratislava

Travel past the remains of the Roman settlement of Aquincum and along the Danube to the picturesque riverside village of Szentendre. This community has long been the haunt of artists, enchanted by its brightly colored houses and quaint churches. Then, journey westward for a stop in the pretty town of Gy6r, located on the confluence of the Danube, Rába and Rábca rivers. Enjoy time for lunch at your leisure before continuing on to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Explore the historical center with a Local Expert who will show you the medieval town hall, gothic St. Martin's Church and fortified St. Michael’s Gate.

Day 5
On to Stately Vienna

A short drive over the Austrian border brings you to stately Vienna, known for its elegant coffee houses and lavish architecture steeped in history. Join a Local Expert for a private visit of Maria Theresa’s Schönbrunn Palace and its formal gardens. Then ready your camera for a dazzling drive around the famous Ring Road. This grand boulevard, built along the lines of the old city walls, showcases many of the capital’s architectural masterpieces, including the Opera House,Vienna Opera House magnificent Hofburg Imperial Residence, Austrian Parliament Building and Karlskirche. The remainder of the day is yours to explore Vienna at your leisure.

Day 6
Relaxed Start - Vienna at Leisure

Discover the regal grandeur of Vienna, as you explore at your own pace. Perhaps start at St. Stephen’s Cathedral - one of  Europe’s great Gothic structures or browse the shops of the bustling Kärntnerstrasse? Ask your Travel Director to recommend local attractions and restaurants, as you appreciate the long, warm summer evening in European style. As night falls, experience an extraordinary concert of Viennese classical music. The best-loved works of Johann Strauss and Mozart, performed by highly acclaimed soloists and dancers, are complemented with a delicious meal of traditional Austrian fare, accompanied with wine for a wonderful Highlight Dinner.

Day 7
Charming Cesky Krumlov and Golden Prague

Once over the Czech border, head for picturesque Cesky Krumlov where you'll start with a brief orientation tour of this fairy-tale town, straight out of the Middle Ages.Cesky Krumlov Enjoy some free time to explore and appreciate views of the Vltava River. Wander through the cobblestone, traffic-free streets, past colorful houses that lead up to the finest castle in the land. After time for lunch on your own, continue through the green Bohemian countryside to Golden Prague.

Day 8
Prague, City of a Hundred Spires

Join a Local Expert for a tour of one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Start with the historic Prague Castle where you’ll admire the stained glass of St. Vitus Cathedral and appreciate amazing views of the Old Town. Continue to Old Town Square where the mechanical antics of the Astronomical Clock’s glockenspielAstronomical Clock delight onlookers each hour. Enjoy a guided visit to the enchanting Strahov Monastery Library, considered to be the most beautiful library in the world. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure. This evening, descend inside a rock to get into the renowned Peklo restaurant for dinner (subject to availability), offering one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city. This is an incredible way to toast your adventures with newfound friends.

Depart Prague

Your journey comes to an end after breakfast. A group transfer is provided to Prague International Airport for your onward journey. Private transfers are available at an additional cost.
