"Travel," Twain wrote, "is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
As my travel industry career evolves, I have realized that, for the most part, my clients are looking beyond a hotel room and local tourist attraction. Instead they want a variety of unique experiences that offers personal growth and a sense of accomplishment and achievement.
It gives me great satisfaction to plan that 40th wedding anniversary celebration to Costa Rica, and have my clients come back raving about the wonderful times they had exploring the rainforest and then relaxing on the beach after their brief adventure. I also love working with multi-generational families finding that perfect match for both their interests and budget. Grandma, mom and dad, plus twin daughters wanting to spend quality time together over Thanksgiving (so no one has to cook or clean-up) leads to cruising the Caribbean and creating memories for everyone.
Since I have been planning and hosting Girl's Trips for almost 10 years, it was a natural progression to move these getaways to a new and even more enriching experience - Literary Tours. Hosting these literary tours has allowed my love of books and travel come alive in each unique destination.
Currently my favorite destination is Cuba. I had the opportunity to escort a group to Cuba in November 2016 on a people to people vacation. Enjoyed the local artisans, delicious food, and the Cuban music.
Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Cuba, Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, Sweden, Finland. Over my travel industry career, I have has the opportunity to sail on over 35 ships and 12 cruise lines (ocean and river cruise lines).
Where do I want to go next?
Vietnam and Cambodia to visit my son who is in the Peace Corps. We also have a Literary Tour planned for the Cotswolds in the English countryside for this fall.
